Pinpoint Test AQ : P2533:62

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    SOBDMC P2533:62 Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit: Signal Compare Failure This DTC sets when the module is unable to shut off during key-off.

    Possible Sources 

    • Wiring, terminals or connectors
    • BCM issue

  2. AQ1 CHECK THE BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM

    Are the battery and charging system voltages within specification? 

    Yes  GO to  AQ2
    No  REPAIR as necessary. REFER to: Charging System - Overview . CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  3. AQ2 CHECK THE ISP-R VPWR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect BCMC C1035B.

    • Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A.

    • Measure and record:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

    Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  GO to  AQ3
    No  REPAIR the open circuit.
  4. AQ3 CHECK THE ISP-R CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

    • Ignition ON.

    • Measure and record:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground

    Is any voltage present? 

    Yes  REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test.
    No  GO to  AQ4
  5. AQ4 RECHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) P2533:62

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Repair:

      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

    • Reconnect the BCMC connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

    • Reconnect the Inverter System Controller (ISC) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Wait two minutes.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the BCMC and Inverter System Controller (ISC).

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Start the engine.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the BCMC and Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-tests.

    Is DTC P2533:62 present? 

    Yes  Refer to Pinpoint Tests Z: Intermittent .
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
