- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM monitors the transmission fluid temperature at all times and if the TCC control valve is stuck in a position that provides no flow when the TCC is commanded off it may cause the TCC to overheat.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P2783:00 Torque Converter Temperature Too High: No Sub Type Information The TCC control valve is stuck in a position that provides no flow when the TCC is commanded off. The TCC pumps down when commanded off, causing loss of torque multiplication through the TCC. This can cause the TCC to overheat. Possible Sources
- Transmission fluid contamination
- TCC solenoid failure
- TCC failure
- AF1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Road test the vehicle.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2783 present in the PCM?
Yes REFER to: Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) . No The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
