Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve: Removal

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Remove the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor. Refer to: Differential Pressure Feedback Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Sensor .

- Remove the fastener.
- Remove the EGR inlet tube nut.

- Remove the fasteners.
- Remove the EGR valve inlet tube.
- Remove the gasket and discard.
- Loosen the EGR valve bracket fasteners.
- Disconnect the upper cooling hose from the EGR valve assembly. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling
.
- Remove the fasteners and EGR valve outlet tube.

- Remove and discard the EGR tube o-ring seal and gasket.

- Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector and detach the retainer on the EGR valve bracket.
- Remove the EGR valve bracket fasteners.
- Lift the EGR valve to gain access to disconnect the lower coolant hose on EGR valve assembly then remove EGR valve. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

- Remove the EGR valve mounting fasteners and remove the EGR valve.
