Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Installation

Both sides

Inspect the ignition coil-on-plugs. Replace any damaged ignition coil-on-plugs. Replace any of the ignition coil-on-plug seals or rubber boots with cracks, rips or tears.

- NOTE: Apply light coat of Motorcraft WSB-M1C239-A Electrical Grease on inside of boot prior to assembly.
  
  NOTE: Engine boot slides on to plug end, check boot has not folded or misaligned.
  
  Install the ignition coil-on-plugs.
- Install and tighten the ignition coil-on-plug bolts.
  Torque: Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) - - Stage 2: 50°

Connect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to: Upper Intake Manifold .
