- Press and release the center button. Make sure it moves freely.
Is the center button free of debris and foreign material, and does it move freely?
Yes GO to K2 No CLEAN any debris or foreign material from the button. If the button still sticks after cleaning it, INSTALL a new GSM. REFER to: Gear Shift Module (GSM) . - K2 CHECK GSM SWITCHES PID STATUS
- Connect the diagnostic tool.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the following PIDs:
- SBW_SLM_SW_1
- SBW_SLM_SW_2
- SBW_SLM_SW_3
Do any of the switch PID readings indicate that any of the gear shift M button switches are pressed?
Yes If the gear shift M button PID indicates one or more of the switch contacts are pressed, GO to K3 No System is working properly at this time, if a symptom is present go to the symptom chart. - K3 CHECK FOR CORRECT GSM (GEAR SHIFT MODULE) OPERATION
