Crankshaft Pulley: Removal

NOTE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan may cause engine failure.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Remove the bolts and the suspension support bar.

Remove the following items:
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
2. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
3. Remove the degas bottle. Refer to: Degas Bottle .
- Detach the coolant hose retainers.
- Remove the bolts and the air cleaner bracket.

- Remove pin-type retainer.
- Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

Remove the A/C compressor belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
NOTE: If further disassembly of the engine will be performed, retain the original crankshaft pulley bolt.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer.
- Discard the bolt.

NOTE: Use a universal puller (such as an OTC 6667, or equivalent).

Using a universal puller, remove the crankshaft pulley.
