- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM monitors the transmission fluid pressure at all times to insure proper transmission operation. It sets a DTC if it detects low pressure.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P0868:00 Transmission Fluid Pressure Low: No Sub Type Information The PCM detected multiple clutch stuck off DTCs. This DTC may set in conjunction with P0751, P0756, P0761, P0766, P0771 or P2707. The ratio error did not last long enough for the PCM to isolate the fault to a specific clutch. The logic disabled fifth gear for the remainder of the current key cycle the fault occurred in. The DTC self clears after 40 warm up cycles have been completed without detecting the fault again. Possible Sources
- Transmission fluid contamination
- Pump failure
- Z1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTCs for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Road test the vehicle.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is DTC P0868 present in the PCM?
Yes CLEAR the DTC. Road test vehicle, if DTC P0868 returns, If DTCs P0751, P0756, P0761, P0766, P0771 or P2707 are set, TEST for low pump pressure or fluid contamination. PERFORM the line pressure test. REFER to: Special Testing Procedures . No The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
