The PCM monitors clutch applications if a non electrical fault is detected for the TCC a DTC is set in memory.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P0741:00 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Performance/Stuck Off: No Sub Type Information The PCM detected ratio errors 4 times either in or while shifting to first gear. The ratio error did not last long enough for the PCM to isolate the fault to a specific clutch. The logic disabled first gear for the remainder of the current key cycle the fault occurred in. The DTC self clears after 40 warm up cycles have been completed without detecting the fault again. Possible Sources
- Transmission may overheat if the TCC is continuously open
- TCC valve body control valve stuck off
- Seal faults causing loss of pressure
- TCC mechanical failure
- S1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Road test the vehicle.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is DTC P0741 present in the PCM?
Yes REFER to: Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) . No The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
