Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM monitors the supplied voltage and sets a DTC if supply voltage rises below or above threshold.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P0702:00 Transmission Control System Electrical: No Sub Type Information Sets in continuous memory and during the on-demand self-test when the PCM detects the supply voltage is greater than 16 volts. PCM P0882:00 TCM Power Input Signal Low: No Sub Type Information Sets in continuous memory and during the on-demand self-test when the PCM detects the supply voltage is lower than 9 volts. PCM P0883:00 TCM Power Input Signal High: No Sub Type Information Sets in continuous memory and during the on-demand self-test when the PCM detects the supply voltage is greater than 16 volts. PCM P1397:00 System Voltage Out Of Self Test Range: No Sub Type Information Sets in continuous memory and during the on-demand self-test when the PCM detects the supply voltage is greater than 16 volts. Possible Sources
- Charging system concern
- High resistance ground condition
- Low voltage to the PCM
- NOTE: DTC U3003:17 may be stored in the module memory due to past battery charging or vehicle jump starting events.
- K1 RECHECK FOR THE HIGH VOLTAGE DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) IN THE SUSPECT MODULE
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Are DTCs P0702, P0882, P0883, P1397 still present?
Yes GO to K2 No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set previously during battery charging or while jump starting the vehicle. - K2 CHECK FOR HIGH VOLTAGE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
Are any charging or over-voltage related DTCs present in multiple modules?
Yes DIAGNOSE the overcharging condition. REFER to: Charging System . No If the PCM won't communicate with the scan tool, REFER to: Communications Network .
