The PCM monitors the TCC application and when it falls outside of expected performance ranges a DTC sets.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P1744:00 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Performance: No Sub Type Information P1744 is a non-electrical DTC, this DTC sets with DTC P0741 TCC stuck off) or DTC P2758 (TCC stuck off) and is used to illuminate the wrench light. Possible Sources
- Transmission may overheat if the TCC is continuously open
- TCC valve body control valve stuck off or on
- Seal faults causing loss of pressure
- TCC mechanical failure
- AD1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Did DTC P1744 return?
Yes REFER to: Diagnosis By Symptom . No The fault may be intermittent.
