- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
All CIDAS shift solenoids are calibrated from the factory, but not all solenoids are the same. Each solenoid is labelled with a band number, and each main control valve body has a 13-digit solenoid body strategy and a 12-digit solenoid body identification. This information must be downloaded into the PCM, or harsh shifts may occur.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P163E:00 Transmission Control Module Programming Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the transmission identification version is incorrect, the 7-digit service banding code checksum is invalid, or the total transmission identification block checksum is invalid. PCM P163F:00 Transmission ID Block Corrupted, Not Programmed: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the transmission identification is not programmed in the PCM. Possible Sources
- Incorrect or corrupted PCM calibration.
- PCM fault
- AC1 PROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION IDENTIFICATION
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the PCM.
- Carry out the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the KOEO and KOER PCM self-tests.
Is DTC P163E or P163F present in the PCM?
Yes Refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING
After programming the new PCM, CARRY OUT the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .No The fault is not present at this time. It might have been caused by an incorrect or corrupted calibration.
