Pinpoint Test Ac : DTC P1A02

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    The PCM monitors the one way clutch application and when it falls outside of expected performance ranges a DTC sets.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    PCM P1A02:00 Transmission One Way Clutch Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the PCM detects the one way clutch failed to engage gears 1A or 2A 3 times allowing sun gear 1 to rotate backwards. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables 1st and 2nd gear.

    Possible Sources 

    • One way clutch failure

  2. AC1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.

    • Wait 10 seconds.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.

    Did DTC P1A02 return? 

    Yes  REFER to: Transmission .
    No  The fault may be intermittent.
