Pinpoint Test AF : DTC P1001

  1. DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 
    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    PCM P1001:00 KOER Not Able to Complete, KOER Aborted: No Sub Type Information May be caused by an incomplete or incorrect PCM configuration during the PMI process.

    Possible Sources 

    • Incomplete or incorrect PMI of the PCM.

  2. AF1

    • Connect the diagnostic tool.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Retrieve and record all DTCs. Repair any self-test or CMDTCs first. Clear the DTC. Rerun the KOER self-test.

    Is the DTC P1001 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  AF2
    No  Fault may be intermittent or caused by low system voltage.

  3. AF2 CARRY OUT THE PMI (PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION) FOR THE PCM

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PMI procedure for the suspect module as directed by the diagnostic scan tool.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTCs.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.

    Is the DTC P1001 still present? 

    Yes  Refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING .
    After programming the new PCM, CARRY OUT the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
    No  The repair is complete.
