Transmission Fluid Cooler: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the bolts and the heat shield.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  3. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Clamp the coolant hoses, remove the coolant hose bracket nut, loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses from the transmission fluid cooler.

    1. Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  4. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

  5. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid cooler. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).

  6. Remove the bolts and the transmission fluid cooler.

    Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
