Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler front tube assembly and the bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  2. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler and position the clamps.

  3. Install the front module carrier and the bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  4. Connect the hood latch cable.

  5. Close the hood latch cable connector cover.

  6. Attach the wiring harness retainers. Connect the impact severity sensors, the hood ajar switch, the ambient air temperature sensor and the horn electrical connectors.

  7. Install the front bumper and the bolts.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

  8. Install the reinforcement panel and the bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  9. Install the headlamp assemblies. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
  10. Install the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  11. Install the upper radiator air deflector and the pushpins.

  12. Install the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
  13. Position and connect the transmission fluid cooler intermediate tube assembly.

  14. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

  15. Install the bracket bolt and tighten the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.

    1. Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
    2. Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  16. Install the underbody shield and the fasteners.

  17. Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings. Install new band seals and backing rings if necessary.

    1. Seal (7D285).
    2. Backing ring (7J324).

  18. Install the rear transmission fluid cooler tube assembly and the nut.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  19. Tighten the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  20. Install the underbody shield and the fasteners.

  21. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission fluid cooler.

  22. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

    1. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission and install a new bolt.

      Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

    2. Install the cooler tube bracket bolt.

      Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

  24. Install the heat shield and the bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  25. Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
