Selector Lever Cable Adjustment: Adjustment

  1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Position the selector lever in D.

  3. Remove the bolts and the heat shield.

  4. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual lever.

  5. Position the transmission manual lever in D

    • Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.

    • Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents.

  6. Gently pry the center of the lock outward and slide the lock down to unlock the adjuster.

  7. Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.

  8. Lock the selector lever cable adjuster.

  9. Verify the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
  10. Install the heat shield and the bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
