Inspection and Verification

- Verify the customer concern.
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). If a DTC is present, refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart .
- If no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart .
