Pinpoint Test G : C0020:16, C0020:17, C0020:49

Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may cause damage to the connector.
- G1 CHECK THE VEHICLE BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM
- Verify the vehicle battery and charging system are operating correctly. Refer to: Charging System - 6.2L V8/6.8L Triton-30V - V10 . Refer to: Charging System - 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel .
Are the battery and charging system operating correctly?
Yes GO to G2 No FOLLOW the diagnostic repair directions as instructed in Inspection And Verification - 6.2L V8/6.8L Triton-30V - V10 or Inspection And Verification - 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel . - G2 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect ABS module C135 .
- Disconnect all in-line electrical connectors between the ABS module and the BJB.
- Using a good light source, inspect all disconnected electrical connectors for the following:
- corrosion - install new connector or terminal and clean the module pins
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals or pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- spread terminals - install new terminals as necessary
Are the connectors free of corrosion, damaged pins, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals?
Yes If DTC C0020:16 or C0020:17 is present, GO to G3. If DTC C0020:49 is present, CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module and HCU. Refer to: Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . No REPAIR the affected connectors or terminals. Refer to Connector Repair Procedures for schematic and connector information. - G3 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE PUMP MOTOR VOLTAGE SUPPLY FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove BJB fuse 52 (60A).
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C135-1 BJB Fuse 52 (60A) Output Cavity
Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohm?
Yes GO to G4 No REPAIR the circuit. - G4 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE PUMP MOTOR VOLTAGE SUPPLY FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C135-1 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to G5 No REPAIR the circuit. REFER to the OEM Wiring Diagrams to identify the cause of the circuit short. - Measure:
- G5 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C135-13 Ground
Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohm?
Yes GO to G6 No REPAIR the circuit. - G6 CHECK FOR CORRECT ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Connect ABS module C135 . Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Connect all in-line electrical connectors between the ABS module and the BJB. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Install BJB fuse 52 (60A).
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module and HCU. Refer to: Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
