Pinpoint Test A: C2005:78, C2006:78

  1. A1 CHECK FOR OTHER ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.

    Are there additional Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set in the ABS module? 

    Yes  For all other ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), GO to the DTC Chart: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module in DTC Chart(s) .
    No  GO to  A2

  2. A2 USING THE DIAGNOSTIC SCAN TOOL

    • Clear DTC.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.

    Are there additional Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set in the ABS module again? 

    Yes  GO to  A1
    No  GO to  A3

  3. A3 CARRY OUT THE APPLY AND RELEASE ROUTINE

    • Make sure the parking brakes are released.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB apply and release routine.

    Is the concern still present? 

    Yes  GO to  A1
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The problem may have been caused by an unexpected powerdown or invalid data.
