Pinpoint Test Bl: The Lane Keeping Alert Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. BL1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.

    • Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BL2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test BQ 

  2. BL2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  Refer to DTC Chart: IPC in this article. Refer to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)  .
    No  GO to  BL3

  3. BL3 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  Refer to: Communications Network .
    No  GO to  BL4

  4. BL4 CHECK THE LANE KEEPING SYSTEM OPERATION

    • Verify the lane keeping system operate correctly.

    Does the lane keeping system operate correctly? 

    Yes  The system is operating correctly at this time. Inform the customer that this chime only operates with the hands off the steering wheel.
    No  Refer to: Lane Keeping System .
