- CR1 CHECK THE HEADLAMPS ON WARNING CHIME
- Ignition OFF.
- Turn the headlamps on.
- Open the driver door.
- Monitor the headlamps on warning chime.
Does the headlamps on warning chime operate?
Yes GO to CR2 No GO to Pinpoint Test CI - CR2 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes For the Belt-Minder®, GO to CR3 For a seatbelt warning chime, GO to CR4 No GO to CR4 - CR3 CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Verify the speedometer operates.
Does the speedometer operate?
Yes GO to CR4 No GO to Pinpoint Test F - CR4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the IPC DTC Chart. No GO to CR5 - CR5 PERFORM THE RCM (RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the RCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the Master DTC Chart. No GO to CR6 - CR6 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Communications Network No GO to CR7 - CR7 CHECK THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT BUCKLE SWITCH
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the RCM Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- For driver seatbelt,
Access the RCM and monitor the SBELT_D_STPID
- For the passenger seatbelt,
Access the RCM and monitor the SBELT_P_STPID
- Monitor the RCM driver and front passenger seatbelt buckle Parameter Identifications (PIDs) while buckling and unbuckling the seatbelt.
Do the Parameter Identifications (PIDs) display BUCKLED with the seatbelt buckled and UNBUCKLED with the seatbelt unbuckled?
Yes GO to CR8 No INSTALL a new seatbelt buckle. REFER to: Front Seatbelt Buckle - CR8 CHECK THE BELT-MINDER® CONFIGURATIONNOTE: Verify that an administrator key is used for this test and not a MyKey® programmed key. When a MyKey® programmed key is used, the Belt-Minder® is automatically turned on and cannot be disabled (if previously disabled by an administrator, the Belt-Minder® remains disabled when an administrator key is used).
- Verify the Belt-Minder® is activated or configured on for the seating position in question. REFER to: Seatbelt Minder Deactivating/Activating
Is the Belt-Minder activated for the seating position in question?
Yes If the Belt-Minder® is always on above 10 km/h (6 mph) with the seatbelt unfastened, the system is operating correctly. If the Belt-Minder® is always on with the seatbelt fastened or never on with the seatbelt unfastened above 10 km/h (6 mph), INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to: Restraints Control Module (RCM) No ACTIVATE the Belt-Minder® for the seating position in question. REFER to: Restraints Control Module (RCM)
