Fuel Tank Isolation Valve - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV): Removal

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    • Remove the fasteners.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Remove the fasteners.

      Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

    • Remove the pushpins.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector and retainer.

  4. Disconnect the quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

  5. Disconnect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

  6. Remove the isolation valve.
