Block Heater: Removal

NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Remove the starter motor. Refer to: Starter Motor .

NOTE: Make sure the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components.
Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.
NOTE: Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal. The nut can fall off inside the engine and damage the cooling system. - Loosen the block heater retaining screw and remove the block heater.
Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)
