Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler: Removal

Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
Remove the EGR valve. Refer to: Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve .
1. Remove the fastener.
  Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
2. Remove the fastener and mounting bracket.
  Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Disconnect the coolant tube.

Remove the bolts and the coolant tube.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Inspect the coolant tube O-ring seal and replace if damaged.

Disconnect the quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

Remove the fasteners.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Detach the retainers and position aside the wiring harness.

2. Remove the fastener.
  Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
3. Remove the fastener and EGR mounting bracket.
  Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

1. Remove the stud.
  Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
2. Remove the fastener and EGR cooler.
  Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
3. Remove and discard the gaskets.
