Coolant Outlet Connector: Removal

WARNING:
Always allow the engine to cool before opening the cooling system. Do not unscrew the coolant pressure relief cap when the engine is operating or the cooling system is hot. The cooling system is under pressure; steam and hot liquid can come out forcefully when the cap is loosened slightly. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE:

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .

- Detach the electrical wiring harness retainers.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and position the CAC tube aside.

- Detach the coolant hose retainers.
- Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Remove the EGR cooler. Refer to: Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooler .
- Detach the electrical wiring harness retainers.
- Remove the bolts.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

- Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Remove the bolts, studbolts and the coolant outlet connector and outlet pipe assembly.
- Inspect the gasket and replace it if necessary.
- Remove the bolt and separate the coolant outlet pipe from the coolant outlet connector.
- Inspect the O-ring seal and replace it if necessary.
