Gearshift Cables: Removal

Remove the gearshift lever. Refer to: Gearshift Lever .
1. Remove the gearshift cable lock screws and the gearshift cable lock.
2. Release the gearshift cable grommet locks.
3. Remove the gearshift cable grommet.
4. Remove the gearshift cable grommet from the gearshift cables.

Remove the transmission support crossmember. Refer to: Transmission Support Crossmember - 2.3L EcoBoost (199kW/270PS) .
Lower the transmission for gearshift cable stud bolt access.

Remove the gearshift cable stud bolt.
Torque

: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

1. Detach the oxygen sensor retainer.
2. Remove the gearshift cable stud bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
3. Remove the gearshift cable bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Disconnect and remove the gearshift cables.
