Engine Mount LH: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. When removing any turbocharger or engine air intake system component, ensure that no debris enters the system. Failure to do so may result in damage to the turbocharger.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
Using a holding device, hold the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.

Remove the following items:
1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
2. Remove the LH and RH front fender splash shields. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
3. Remove the engine front undershield. Refer to: Engine Front Undershield .
4. Remove the engine rear undershield. Refer to: Engine Rear Undershield .
Remove the nut and the splash shield bracket.

- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Separate the steering shaft and position aside.

Release the clips and position the CAC pipes aside.

NOTE: Step 7 is for vehicles without sway bar disconnect. Steps 8 thru 11 is for vehicles with sway bar disconnect.
- Remove the nuts and bolts and lower the sway bar.
- Discard the nuts and bolts.

Remove the bolts and the sway bar disconnect skid plate.

Disconnect the sway bar disconnect wiring harness electrical connectors and retainers.

- Remove the nuts and bolts and lower the sway bar disconnect.
- Discard the bolts.

Position the sway bar disconnect back so the front sway bar bracket holes are on the sway bar studs bolts and install the old nuts finger tight to position the sway bar aside.

NOTE: Steps 12 thru 14 is for vehicles with an electronic locking axle.
Position an adjustable stand under the axle and remove and discard the bolt. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

NOTE: Use a 1/2 inch drive 12-point 1 inch standard torque adaptor (such as a Snap-on SRDH321, or equivalent).

Using a standard torque adaptor, remove and discard the LH outboard engine mount bolt.

- Position an adjustable stand under the rear of the engine/transmission. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands
- Using the adjustable stand, raise the engine 50 mm (2 in).
