Engine Mount LH: Installation

- Using engine shampoo and degreaser, clean the engine mount bracket.
Material: Motorcraft® Engine Shampoo and Degreaser / ZC-20 (ESR-M14P3-A)
- Wipe the engine mount bracket clean.
- Using engine shampoo and degreaser, clean the engine mount bracket.
- Clean the LH engine mount-to-frame surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
- Install the LH engine mount.
- Align the tab on the LH engine mount to the slot on the engine mount bracket.

NOTE: Use a 1/2 inch drive 12-point 1 inch standard torque adaptor (such as a Snap-on SRDH321, or equivalent).NOTE: Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque using the Torque Wrench Adapter Formulas below.
Install a new LH inboard engine mount bolt and tighten the using the standard torque adaptor.
Torque: Stage 1: 111 lb.ft (150 Nm) Stage 2: 60 deg.

Install a new LH outboard engine mount bolt and tighten the using the standard torque adaptor.
Torque: Stage 1: 111 lb.ft (150 Nm) Stage 2: 60 deg.

- Using the adjustable stand, lower the engine to the installed position.
- Remove the stand. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands
- Install the LH engine mount stud.
Torque: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm)
- Install a new LH engine mount nut and tighten.
Torque: Stage 1: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm) Stage 2: 120 deg.
- Install a new RH engine mount stud.
Torque: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm)
- Install a new RH mount nut and tighten.
Torque: Stage 1: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm) Stage 2: 120 deg.
- Install the LH axle shield and the retainers.NOTE: Steps 11 thru 13 is for vehicles with an electronic locking axle.
- Using the adjustable stand, raise the axle and install the new bolt finger tight. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands
- Install the new rear axle bolts.
Torque: Stage 1: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm) Stage 2: 70 deg.
- Tighten the bolt and remove the adjustable stand. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands
Torque: 195 lb.ft (265 Nm)
NOTE: Steps 14 thru 17 is for vehicles with sway bar disconnect. Step 18 is for vehicles without sway bar disconnect. - Remove and discard the nuts and position the sway bar disconnect forward.
- Position the sway bar disconnect and install the new nuts and bolts.
Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)
- Connect the sway bar disconnect wiring harness electrical connectors and retainers.
- Install the sway bar disconnect skid plate and the bolts.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Position the sway bar and install the new nuts and bolts.
Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)
- Remove and discard the transmission mount nuts.
- Install the new transmission mount nuts and tighten.
Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

- Inspect the turbocharger or engine air intake system components and clean, if necessary.
- Position the CAC pipes and install the clips.
- Position and install the steering shaft and the new bolt.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Install the splash shield bracket and the nut.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Install the following items:
- Install the engine rear undershield. Refer to: Engine Rear Undershield .
- Install the engine front undershield. Refer to: Engine Front Undershield .
- Install the LH and RH front fender splash shields. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
- Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Remove the holding device.
