Transmission Case: Assembly

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

1. Using a soft face hammer and a socket, tap the new mid plate shift shaft bushings in place. Use the General Equipment: Copper Hammer
2. Using a bearing cup installer, install the mid plate bearing cups.

NOTE: Do not heat the transmission case higher than 120 deg.C maximum or damage to the transmission case can occur.

NOTE: The preferred option to heat up the rear transmission case would be a oven if available.

Heat up the bearing surfaces of the rear transmission case. Use the General Equipment: Hot Air Gun

Install the output shaft bearing.

Install the transmission case bearing screws.
Torque: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)

NOTE: The rear counter shaft bearing must be installed in the direction shown, with the flat surface facing out.

Install the new rear counter shaft bearing.

1. Install the new selector lever shaft bushing.
2. Install the new selector lever shaft seal.

1. Install the new selector lever shaft roll pin.
2. Install the selector lever shaft.
3. Install the selector lever.
4. Install the new selector lever roll pin.
