Input Shaft: Disassembly

NOTE:
Clean and inspect components for wear or damage, install new components as necessary.

NOTE: The output shaft to input shaft connection bearing will be installed during assembly of the transmission.
If needed. Remove the output shaft to input shaft connection bearing.

NOTE: Use care to not scratch the input shaft surfaces or leaks and/or premature part failures such as bearings may be the result.
Remove the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer circlip.
- Remove the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer.
- Remove the 3rd gear synchronizer rings.
- Remove the 3rd gear.

NOTE: When removing the bearing, do not over expand the bearing cage or damage to the bearing cage can occur.
Remove the 3rd gear needle bearing.

NOTE: It is recommended using a paint pen and mark all washers, bearings etc. when removed from the shafts so that all parts are installed in the same direction with all mating surfaces touching as removed.
Remove the split washer and the thrust washer.
- Remove the 6th gear.

NOTE: It is recommended using a paint pen and mark all washers, bearings etc. when removed from the shafts so that all parts are installed in the same direction with all mating surfaces touching as removed.
Remove the 6th gear needle bearing.
- Remove the 6th gear synchronizer ring.

NOTE: Use care to not scratch the input shaft surfaces or leaks and/or premature part failures such as bearings may be the result.
Remove the 6th/5th gear synchronizer circlip.

NOTE: The 5th/6th gear synchronizer has to be installed the same direction as removal.
Mark and remove the 6th/5th gear synchronizer.
- Remove the 5th gear synchronizer ring.
- Remove the 5th gear.

NOTE: When removing the bearing, do not over expand the bearing cage or damage to the bearing cage can occur.
Remove the 5th gear needle bearing.

NOTE: Inspect components for wear or damage, Install new components as necessary.
Clean and inspect the input shaft.
