Disassembly And Assembly Of Subassemblies: Countershaft: Assembly

- Install the inner mid plate bearing race.
- Install the outer to inner countershaft thrust bearing.

NOTE: When installing the bearings, do not over expand the bearing cage or damage to the bearing cage can occur.
Install the outer counter shaft bearings.
- Install the outer counter shaft.
- Install the 2nd gear needle bearing.
- Install the 2nd gear.
- Install the 2nd gear synchronizer rings.
- Install the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer.

NOTE: The 1st gear thrust bearing must be seated properly when installing the 1st gear with the hydraulic press or damage to the 1st gear thrust bearing will be the result.
Install the 1st gear thrust bearing.

NOTE: The 3 synchronizer ring tabs must engage into the 3 synchronizer assembly slots or damage to the synchronizer assembly and synchronizer ring assembly can occur.
Install the 1st gear synchronizer rings.

NOTE: The 1st gear thrust bearing must be seated properly when installing the 1st gear with the hydraulic press or damage to the 1st gear thrust bearing will be the result.NOTE: When the 1st gear is pressed on there should be no gap between 2nd gear and 5th gear of the counter shafts.
Using a hydraulic press, install the 1st gear. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press

Install the counter shaft mid plate bearing.
