Pinpoint Test H: Gears Clash When Shifting From One Forward Gear To Another

- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
- Pilot bearing
- Check for a binding condition between the input shaft and the engine crankshaft pilot bearing or bushing. If there is any binding, install a new pilot bearing. REFER to: Pilot Bearing
- Gear teeth and/or synchronizer
- Inspect the suspect gears and synchronizers for damage or wear. Install new components as necessary.
- Shift forks, shift fork inserts
- Inspect the suspect shift forks and shift fork inserts for damage or wear. Install new components as necessary.
- Gear shift interlock
- Inspect the gear shift interlock mechanism on the shift shaft for damage or wear. Make sure only 1 shift fork can move at a time.

- Damaged shift forks or worn shift fork inserts
