Clutch Pedal: Removal

NOTE: If the brake fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.

Using a suitable suction device, siphon the brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

NOTE: Cap the clutch master cylinder supply hose to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
1. Remove the clutch master cylinder line retaining clip.
2. Disconnect the clutch master cylinder fluid lines.
3. Install a plug on the clutch line supply of the master cylinder reservoir.

Disconnect the electrical connector and the harness retainers.

1. Remove the clutch pedal assembly retaining nuts.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2. Remove the clutch pedal assembly.
3. If required. Remove the clutch pedal position sensor.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

If required.
1. Remove the clutch master cylinder line retaining clips.
2. Remove the clutch master cylinder lines.

If required.
1. Remove the clutch master cylinder retaining clip.
2. Remove the clutch master cylinder bolts.
  Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)
3. Remove the clutch master cylinder.
