Fuel Lines: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
1. Place your hand under the upper shell at each grommets location and push straight up to release each grommet from the studs.
2. After all of the grommets have been released from the studs, remove the upper shell from the engine.

Remove the bolts and High Pressure Fuel Pump shield.
Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Remove the High Pressure Fuel Pump noise insulator.

Disconnect the fuel lines. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling . Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .

Remove rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
Remove transmission support crossmember. Refer to: Transmission Support Crossmember - 2.3L EcoBoost (199kW/270PS) .
10-Speed Automatic Transmission - 10R80
NOTE: Body removed from vehicle for clarity.
1. Remove the nut.
  Torque
  
  : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
2. Release the fuel line routing retainers and position aside the fuel lines.

7-Speed Manual Transmission - MT88
1. Remove the nut.
  Torque
  
  : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

3-Door
1. Detach the clip and disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Disconnect the fuel line quick release couplings and remove the fuel lines. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

- Detach the clip and disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the fuel line quick release couplings and remove the fuel lines. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
