Removal And Installation: Muffler: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
NOTE: Install new clamp if necessary.

NOTE: Make sure the location of the clamp and the tab during assembly is same as before disassembly.

Loosen the clamp.

Torque

: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

NOTE: During assembly, make sure the tab is fully seated in the notch on the pipe.

Disconnect the isolators and remove the muffler assembly.

Isolator hanger bracket

NOTE: The below following steps are only necessary, if you are replacing the isolator hanger bracket.
NOTE: This step is only required if replacing the RH muffler hanger bracket.

Remove the rear bumper. Refer to: Rear Bumper .
1. Disconnect the isolator.
2. Remove the bolts and the RH hanger bracket.
  Torque
  
  : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
