Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor: Removal

Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 

1. • Detach the wiring harness retainer from the rear engine lift eye.
   • Detach the wiring harness retainers and position aside.

2. Release the tabs and remove the upper plastic and foam high-pressure fuel pump cover.

3. Remove the lower plastic and foam high-pressure fuel pump cover retainer and position the fuel tube up.

4. Using a knife, cut the lower plastic high-pressure fuel pump cover at the two positions shown and remove the lower plastic high-pressure fuel pump cover. Use the General Equipment: Knife

5. • Remove the lower foam high-pressure fuel pump cover retainer.
   • Using a knife, cut the lower foam high-pressure fuel pump cover at the position shown and remove. Use the General Equipment: Knife

6. Position the fuel tube down.

7. • Disconnect the electrical connector and position aside the tube. Remove the bolt and the exhaust CMP sensor.

     Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

8. • Detach the wiring harness retainer from the rear engine lift eye.
   • Detach the wiring harness retainers and position aside.

10. Remove the lower plastic and foam high-pressure fuel pump cover retainer and position the fuel tube up.

12. • Remove the lower foam high-pressure fuel pump cover retainer.
    • Using a knife, cut the lower foam high-pressure fuel pump cover at the position shown and remove. Use the General Equipment: Knife

13. Position the fuel tube down.

14. Remove the high-pressure fuel pump bracket bolts, then remove the bracket.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

15. Remove the high-pressure fuel pump bracket nut.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

16. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the bolt and the intake CMP sensor.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
