Parking Brake Control: Removal

- Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe - 2.3L EcoBoost (231kW/314PS)/2.3L EcoBoost (257kW/350PS) - MI4. Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT (359kW/486PS) (WU)/5.0L Ti-VCT V8 (343kW/466PS) (MF).

- Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.
- Rotate the cable outward, then pull the pin and cable upwards and disconnect from the equalizer.
- Release the tabs and disconnect the front cable from the bracket.
- Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console
- Remove the bolt and position the parking brake switch aside.

- Remove the 2 bolts.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the nut and the parking brake control and front cable assembly.
Torque
: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)
- Remove the 2 bolts.
