Possible Sources
- Interior lighting concern
- PRNDL indication concern
- BCM
- PCM
- GWM
- IPC
- BR1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.
- Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes GO to BR2 No GO to Pinpoint Test A - BR2 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR INDICATION
- Open the driver door.
- Observe the door ajar warning RTT indicator.
Does the door ajar warning RTT indicator turn on with the driver door ajar?
Yes GO to BR3 No GO to Pinpoint Test S - BR3 CHECK THE PRNDM OPERATION
- Shift the transmission range selector through the ranges while observing the PRNDM indication.
Does the PRNDM indication match the selected transmission range?
Yes GO to BR4 No GO to Pinpoint Test AM - BR4 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . No GO to BR5 - BR5 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the appropriate DTC Chart. No GO to BR6 - BR6 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . No GO to BR7 - BR7 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Controller Area Network (CAN) Module Communications Network . No DIAGNOSE the ignition system. REFER to: Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components .
