Information-On-Demand Displays

Information-on-demand displays are selected from the main menu options with the steering wheel switch controls.

Auto Stop/Start 

The message center provides system status messages when the auto stop/start feature menu is selected, including system not available, fault service required or deactivated by driver.

Average Speed 

The message center provides average speed units and a reset option when the average speed feature menu is selected. The IPC uses odometer count data, vehicle speed and an internal clock to calculate the average speed. The average speed is calculated over time/distance the vehicle traveled since the last reset.

Battery Voltage Gauge (Off Road Display Only) 

The message center provides the battery voltage gauge for off road display only. The IPC monitors the hot at all times voltage input circuit from the BCM and filters the data to calculate the current battery voltage displayed in the gauge.

Engine Oil Life 

The message center provides messages to inform the driver about the engine oil life status, engine oil life reset status and when an engine oil change is required. The duration of the interval between engine oil changes is calculated in the PCM and varies due to driving conditions. The PCM assumes a base mileage of 16, 090 km (10, 000 mi) or 1 year for normal driving. However, this number is adjusted down for conditions such as high engine temperature, high engine rpm, use of flex fuel and possibly low engine oil level. The PCM calculates and provides the engine oil life percent message to the IPC. The IPC further converts the remaining engine oil life using the driver's configured engine oil life start value and displays the engine oil life percentage, indicating the remaining engine oil life. The engine oil change minder can be reset at any time by the driver.

Engine Oil Temperature Gauge (Off Road Display) 

The message center provides the engine oil temperature gauge for off road display only. The IPC uses engine oil temperature data from the PCM to display the temperature in a linear virtual gauge in degrees Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C).

Off Road 

The off road display in the message center is a selectable on-demand display. The off road display shows graphics depicting the vehicle pitch, vehicle roll and front wheel turning angle when the vehicle is in an off road mode or any driving condition. The off road display also includes:

Power Distribution 

The power distribution display indicates the level of power applied to each wheel. As power is applied to the wheels, the area directly in front of each wheel in the graphic display fills in. The lowest power displayed is the closest to the wheel. As the amount of power sent to wheels increases, the area fills in either forward (front wheels) or rearward (rear wheels) of the wheels.

Seatbelts 

The message center provides a selected menu display showing which seatbelts are fastened or unfastened, in all front and rear seating positions.

Sta-Bar Disconnect (Off Road Display) 

The message center provides the sta-bar disconnect status with the off-road display. The sta-bar disconnect RTT information (off, disconnected, standby and fault) are repeated in the off road display.

TPMS 

The IPC provides a message center display showing each tire on a vehicle image to indicate specific tire pressures.

Transmission Temperature Gauge (Off Road Display) 

The message center provides the transmission temperature gauge for off road display only. The IPC uses transmission fluid temperature data from the PCM to display the temperature in a linear virtual gauge in degrees Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C).

Turbo Boost Gauge (Off Road Display) 

The message center provides the turbo boost gauge for off road display only. The IPC uses turbo boost data from the PCM to display the turbo boost power in a linear virtual gauge in kilopascal (kpa) or pound per square inch (psi) units.

Trip 1, Trip 2 

The Trip 1 and Trip 2 displays provide a trip timer, average fuel economy and total trip distance traveled. The customer can reset the Trip data in the message center display. The Trip displays are calculated internally in the IPC.
