Electric Vehicle Engine Off Warning Chime (HEV)

The electric vehicle engine off warning chime informs the driver that the vehicle is in a state that could be driven. With the driver door open, the transmission in PARK (P) and ignition OFF, the electric vehicle engine off warning chime sounds a single, 1-second, chime tone through the front speakers.

The IPC receives the door ajar status message and the gear lever position message from the GWM over the High Speed Controller Area Network 3 (HS3-CAN).

The GWM receives the door ajar status message from the BCM and the gear lever position message from the PCM over the High Speed Controller Area Network 1 (HS1-CAN).

When a chime request is received, the IPC sends the IPC chime request message to the ACM and the audio DSP to sound the chime.
