DTC P042F - EGR A Control Stuck Closed

DTC DESCRIPTION P042F - EGR A CONTROL STUCK CLOSED

Description:  This DTC sets when the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) setpoint is more than a specified threshold, the actual EGR position is less than a specified threshold, and the EGR control limit is more than a specified limit.
Possible Causes: 
  • EGRVCL circuit open
  • EGRVCH circuit open
  • EGRVCL and EGRVCH circuits are cross wired
  • EGRVCL and EGRVCH circuits are shorted together
  • Debris restricting the EGR valve movement
  • Binding or stuck EGR valve
  • Damaged EGR valve
Diagnostic Aids:   
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All GO to PINPOINT TEST KD .
