Transmission Fluid Cooler - 1.5L EcoBoost (118kW/160PS) - I4/2.5L Duratec (110kW/150PS): Removal

1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
2. Remove the air cleaner. For 1.5L, Refer to: Air Cleaner . For 2.5L, Refer to: Air Cleaner .
3. Remove the retainers and the engine undershield.

4. Drain the cooling system. For 1.5L, Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding . For 2.5L, Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
5. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

6. NOTE: Use suitable paper to absorb any escaping fluid.

   Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

7. Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses.

8. Remove the bolt and the transmission fluid cooler.
