Condenser - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4: Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in General Procedures .
  2. Remove the CAC. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) .
  3. Remove the bolt and position the A/C compressor outlet line bracket aside.

    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  4. Remove the retainer and position the coolant hose aside.

  5. NOTE: Parts shown removed for clarity.

    1. Remove the nuts and disconnect the fittings.

      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

    2. Remove the studbolt.

      Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

    • Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

  6. Remove the pin-type retainers and position the radiator air deflector aside.

  7. NOTE: Parts shown removed for clarity.

    1. Loosen the bolt.

      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

    2. Release the tabs and position the transmission cooler aside.

    Release the tabs and remove the condenser.
