Oil Pan: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the oil level indicator.

  3. Remove the retainers and the engine undershield.

  4. Remove the bolts, release the tab and position the coolant hoses aside.

  5. Remove the drain plug, drain engine oil and install the drain plug. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment

    Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)

  6. Remove and discard the engine oil filter. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment. Use the General Equipment: Strap Wrench

  7. Remove the oil pan bolts.

  8. Using the pry pads, remove the oil pan.
