Oil Pan: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the oil level indicator.
- Remove the retainers and the engine undershield.
- Remove the bolts, release the tab and position the coolant hoses aside.
- Remove the drain plug, drain engine oil and install the drain plug. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- Remove and discard the engine oil filter. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment. Use the General Equipment: Strap Wrench
- Remove the oil pan bolts.
- Using the pry pads, remove the oil pan.
