Power Transfer Unit

  1. Install the PTU.

  2. Install the new top PTU bolts.

    Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

  3. Install the new bottom PTU bolts.

    Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

  4. Install the PTU support bracket and the support bracket bolts.

    Torque: 1: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm) | 2: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

  5. Connect the PTU vent hose.

  6. Install the front halfshaft RH. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH .
  7. Install the PTU heat shield and heat shield bolts.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  8. Install the catalytic converter.
    • Install the CAC inlet tube and the clamps and retainers.

    • Install the CAC outlet tube and clamp.

  9. Remove the PTU filler plug.

  10. Fill the PTU with clean fluid, level with the fill plug opening.

  11. Install the PTU fill plug.

    Torque: 33 lb.ft (45 Nm)

  12. Install the rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
  13. If equipped. Install the underbody shield.
