Oil Pump: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the timing cover. Refer to: Timing Cover .
- Install the engine support bar. Install Special Service Tool: 303-F072 Support Bar, Engine.
- Remove the trolley jack and wooden block. Remove the General Equipment: Trolley Jack. Remove the General Equipment: Wooden Block
- Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector and detach the wire harness retainer.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
- Remove the nut and position aside the bracket.
- Remove the A/C compressor nut and the stud.
- Remove the bolts and position aside the A/C compressor.

- Remove the oil drain bolt and drain the engine oil. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
- Install the oil drain bolt.
Torque:
21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- Remove the engine bolt.
- Remove the transmission bolts.
- Remove the bolts and the oil pan.
- Remove the bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.
- Remove and discard the gasket.

- Position out the spring.
- Remove the bolts and the oil pump chain tensioner.

- Remove the chain from the oil pump drive gear.
- Remove the bolt and the oil pump drive gear.
- Remove the bolts and the oil pump.
- Clean and prepare the RTV sealing surface. Refer to: RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation .
