Pinpoint Test Cl : The Memory Feedback Chime Is Inoperative

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    See Memory Feedback Chime. REFER to: Warning Chimes - System Operation and Component Description .

    Possible Sources 

    • Memory seat feature concern
    • DSM
    • GWM
    • IPC

  2. CL1 CHECK THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Unbuckle the driver seatbelt.

    • Monitor the seatbelt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the seatbelt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  CL2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test CQ 

  3. CL2 PERFORM THE DSM (DRIVER FRONT SEAT MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the DSM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Front Seats .
    No  GO to  CL3

  4. CL3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to the DTC Chart: IPC .
    No  GO to  CL4

  5. CL4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Communications Network .
    No  DIAGNOSE the memory seat feature. REFER to: Front Seats .
