Pinpoint Test BT : The Engine Oil Life Message Is Never Displayed

Possible Sources
- Message center concern
- The PCM has not reached the programmed mileage/time based on the criteria required to display the message.
- BT1 VERIFY MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Open then close the driver door while observing the message center.
Does the driver door ajar message appear in the message center with the driver door ajar and turn off with the driver door closed?
Yes GO to BT2 No GO to Pinpoint Test T - BT2 VERIFY ENGINE OIL LIFE
- Ignition ON.
- Using the system check in the message center, verify the engine oil life is between 1% and 5% for the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message or at 0% for the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message.
Is the engine oil life is between 1% and 5% for the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message or at 0% for the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message?
Yes Refer to IPC Guided Routine Testing . No The system is operating correctly at this time. INFORM the customer how the message center functions and how the engine oil life messages are set.
