  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Parking Brake - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    ABS B1111:4B Electric Park Brake Enable: Over Temperature This DTC sets due to excessive apply and release operations by the driver, a shorted or blocked actuator motor or a shorted motor circuit.

    Possible Sources 

    • The EPB Apply and Release routine was not carried out.
    • EPB switch.
    • EPB switch wiring.

  2. E1 CARRY OUT THE EPB APPLY AND RELEASE ROUTINE

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB Apply and Release routine.

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the ABS DTC.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS self-test.

    Is DTC B1111:4B set? 

    Yes  Check EPB switch wiring. GO to Pinpoint Test B 
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The EPB Apply and Release routine cleared the DTC.
