Rear Bumper: Removal

All vehicles 

1. Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to: Rear Bumper Cover  .

   Vehicles without trailer tow 

2. Remove the rear bumper.
   1. Remove the bolts from the back side of the rear bumper mounts.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

   2. With the help of an assistant, remove the rear bumper bolts.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

   Vehicles equipped with trailer tow 

3. NOTE: On both sides.

   Remove the rear bumper to frame rail bolts.

   Torque: 103 lb.ft (140 Nm)

4. Remove the rear bumper.
   1. Remove the rear bumper bolts.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

   2. With the help of an assistant, slide the rear bumper out from the frame rails.
